As more and more Americans re-register as D/S Independents, political pundits are scouring the land to explain the “bleeding out” taking place in both major parties.
The obvious may be just too simple for these high priced numbers crunchers to fathom. Americans of all ethnic, religious and cultural backgrounds can and will think for themselves! Many of us have sat back thinking our leaders in either party are representing our interest and have relied on their position to speak for us and vote for us.
Well that time has come and gone for many of us. Seeing first hand the leaders of each party working together behind closed doors making deals and violating our constitutional rights, to serve special interests, has tip the scales. If you have a better idea, then you have to prove it!
With the Immigration Amnesty Bill dead for now, those same pundits are proclaiming the damage to the Hispanic Vote which will be suffered by the Republican Party. What an insult to Americans of Hispanic Descent! What makes these cheap suited talking heads believe our loyalty is to another country and not the United States of America.
They speak of the loss of support suffered by President Bush between 2002 and 2006 and attribute it to the lack of immigration reform. Most Hispanics in the US are American Citizens. They are concerned with education, public safety, transportation and every other issue which other Americans are concerned with.
President Bush and his unwillingness to enforce current Immigration Laws, out of control spending, the war in Iraq and many other issues, can not blame his loss of support on a failed immigration policy.
Just the opposite is most likely true. Failing to enforce the laws may be the reason he has lost the support of individual who reside in predominately Hispanic Communities. For it is their community which is impacted most by uncortrolled numbers of persons in this counrty illegally.
